euforia: tomorrow’s decision makers, today’s changemakers
Although 70% of youth would like to get involved in building a more sustainable future, only 12% are actually doing so (opinion poll by Ipsos, 2006). euforia hosts interactive trainings, by youth for youth, in order to mobilize the untapped potential of our generation for developing innovative solutions to our world’s most pressing challenges. We offer young people a platform to explore, develop and connect their changemaking skills, so they volunteer, change their lifestyles and launch their own projects to promote a sustainable development.
Impact
Since 2007, we have mobilized a network of over 150 young volunteers that organized over thirty trainings and events all over Switzerland for more than 1,300 youth, offering a platform to over 60 concrete volunteering opportunities. In average, 6 months after our trainings 70% of the participants have become more actively involved in taking up global challenges locally.

Sustainability

We are a platform for commitment opportunities for youth and establish the missing link between youth and organizations/institutions/projects that tackle global challenges locally.
Scalability
The very concept of our approach is to be scalable: Our main trainings should increase from 250, respectively 800 participants in 2011 to 1,000, respectively 8,000 in 2015. Our objective is to create a viable and high impact business model by 2015 in Switzerland in order to begin expanding into neighbouring countries thereafter.

In order to become self-funded by 2015, we are seeking to develop a corporate volunteering service that will allow a selected company not only to raise the working efficiency of their staff but also to reach out to the pool of incomparable young talent we gather at our trainings. We are convinced that the changemaking skills (curiosity, creativity, thirst for innovation & determination) developed by our participants could prove highly beneficial for businesses of all kinds.
